Kia Amanti Wins 'Most Delightful Vehicle' Award from Strategic Vision

Less than 18 months since its introduction in the Ú.S., the Kia Amanti was recognized earlier this week for its unique ability to delight customers when the San Diego based research firm Strategic Vision, Inc. (SVI) named the premium sedan the 'Most Delightful Vehicle' in the mid-size car category. Formerly known as the 'Total Delight' study, the newly named 'Customer Delight Index Study™' provides a comprehensive look at the product attributes and benefits that explicitly create delightful responses from the primary drivers of vehicles.

'It is an honor to receive this award from Strategic Vision because it is a direct reflection of the positive experience Amanti owners are having with their new vehicle,' said Peter M. Butterfield, president and CEO, Kia Motors America (KMA). 'The Amanti offers consumers high levels of value, quality and safety, and we are pleased that it continues to receive strong recognition from consumers.'

The results of Strategic Vision's 2004 Customer Delight Index were calculated from the responses of 74,910 new vehicle 2004-model owners who made their purchases between October 2003 and March of 2004 and had owned their vehicles for at least 90 days before they were surveyed.

2005 Kia Amanti'A Delight rating requires a more positive, complete response than simply ‘Excellent' or ‘Completely Satisfied,'' states Dr. Darrel Edwards, Founder of Strategic Vision, Inc. 'When you Delight your customer, you create stronger bonds of emotional commitment to the product, the brand and the manufacturer.'

Kia Amanti, Sportage Receive APEAL Awards in J.D. Power and Associates Study

Premium Sedan and Compact SÚV Are First Kia Models To Rank Highest In Segment

In just three years, Kia Motors America's (KMA) next generation products have delivered on a promise to offer Ú.S. consumers high-quality vehicles with an impressive array of comfort, convenience and safety equipment. That commitment was recognized this week when new-vehicle owners awarded the Kia Amanti sedan and the Sportage SÚV the highest scores in their segments in the J.D. Power and Associates 2005 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study.SM

The Amanti (Premium Midsize Car) and Sportage (Entry SÚV) are the first Kia models to receive segment-leading scores in the study, which measures new-vehicle buyers' delight with the design, content, layout and performance of their new vehicles.

2005 Kia Amanti'The Amanti and Sportage are the latest examples of Kia's ability to develop stylish new products with more comfort and convenience features than the competition at an incredible value to the consumer,' said Kia Motors America president and CEO Peter M. Butterfield. 'It is an honor for both of these vehicles to receive their top rankings because it is a direct reflection of the positive experience Amanti and Sportage owners are having with their new vehicles.'

Now in its 10th year, the APEAL Study was based on responses from more than 115,000 new-vehicle owners who were surveyed during the first 90 days of ownership. Eight categories of vehicle performance and design are measured to assess buyer satisfaction, including: engine/transmission; ride, handling and braking; comfort/convenience; seats; cockpit/instrument panel; heating, ventilation and cooling; sound system; and styling/exterior.

Both the Amanti and Sportage follow Kia's next generation product plan -- incorporating modern, stylish designs with high levels of comfort and convenience and class-leading standard safety features -- while retaining the brand's strong adherence to the value-for-money ethic.

Kia Motors America is the Ú.S. sales, marketing and service arm of Kia Motors Corp. in Seoul, South Korea. The full line of Kia models including the Sedona minivan, Amanti premium large sedan, Sorento midsize SÚV, Optima midsize sedan, Sportage compact SÚV, Spectra compact sedan and Spectra5 hatchback as well as the Rio subcompact sedan and Rio5 five-door are available at more than 600 retailers nationwide.

Kia Amanti Receives Strategic Vision Total Value Award

Premium Sedan Recognized By New Car Buyers for the Quality of Ownership Experience
For the second time in less than a month, new vehicle owners have expressed their extreme satisfaction with the 2005 Kia Amanti as the premium sedan earned top honors in the large car category in Strategic Vision's 2005 Total Value Index (TVI). The San Diego-based research firm's calculations correlate various economic issues with the overall quality of the ownership experience.

The Strategic Vision Award follows the recent announcement by J.D. Power and Associates that the Amanti received the highest score from new car buyers in the premium midsize car category in the company's 2005 APEAL Study.

Strategic Vision surveyed new car buyers who purchased their vehicle between October 2004 and March 2005 and had owned them at least 90 days before they were surveyed. The TVI is calculated by assessing the immediate economic issues of ownership (price, affordability, deal offered, warranty and standard equipment) and the vehicles anticipated value (durability, future trade-in, mileage and reliability). The scores are then considered against measures of the total perceived ownership experience.

2005 Kia Amanti'The Total Value Award is a significant achievement because it is a direct reflection of the positive experience Amanti owners are having with their new vehicles,' said Ian Beavis, Kia's vice president, marketing. 'The Amanti offers high levels of comfort, convenience and safety at a tremendous value, and is another example of the excitement and delight our next generation products are delivering to consumers.'
